Tryouts: General Info & FAQ's

Tryout Schedules
Each tryout will consist of two tryout sessions that will last anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours for each session.  Players are required to attend both sessions.  Attendance is vital in providing the age group evaluators with a clear picture of each player's ability and standing.  Make up dates are a possibility in case of weather issues.  Contact DOC Josh Braun if you have any conflicts or issues with tryout dates.

Tryout Expectations
Each player should come to tryouts with boots, shin guards, and appropriate soccer attire.  Each player should also bring a soccer ball with their name clearly marked and water.  Players should arrive early to ensure that they are prepared for each session.  Parents are not allowed to coach or give their child feedback as they are playing or during water breaks and are asked to remain back from the field of play.

Evaluators will be looking for players with strong, consistent technical abilities with the ball, a clear tactical understanding of the game, physical qualities needed to be successful at the premier level of play (speed, quickness, agility, strength, coordination), and the psychological make-up for continued growth (courage, attitude, effort, encouragement, persistence, the ability to deal with difficulty/failure).

Tryouts will consist of small sided games (4 v 4/5 v 5) that build to larger numbers (6 v 6/8 v 8/11 v 11) dependant on the age of the group.

Tryout Results/Team Formation
Tryout results will be posted within 48 hours after the final tryout session.  Results will be posted on the ACSC website.
